why does everyone have to use different encoding software nowadays? i couldn't see the bus clip the last time it was posted, and i can't see it now. what media player are you guys using?

Nick, if it's an AVI file then it's probably encoded in DivX format. Go to http://www.divx.com/divx/ to get the latest codec. Then you can use the DivX player or Media Player to play DivX movies.
