just wondering if anyone has been burnt buying off ebay?i hear storys about it? also can anyone shed light on the best ways to buy safely.thanks

the only thing you can really do is check the sellers past items and read their feedback. Apart from that, don't buy off new members and if you happen to get burnt contact ebay and they might be able to help. Hope this helps

Never had a worry with it. Just make sure you check out the seller's history.

If it sounds too dodgey to be true, it probably is.

Yep, go done over a scanner for the PC and am in the middle of another issue about a buyer refusing to pay courier costs on an Item I sold. Generally its ok but you will get burnt eventually and theres not much you can do about it.

does ebay keep records of sellers details to make a complaint to try and recover money?

Nah, scanner is ancient history. It arrived broken and the guy had the balls to leave me negative feedback.

As for the courier, they screwed up and invoiced me not her, so its being delt with now. The courier company are being good about it but its still a pain in the ass.

I have sold about 90 items on ebay.I always check stuff before i sell it.But on the flipside,every mobile phone I have bought on ebay had problems and you cant prove jack!!The best thing I ave bought off ebay was my g tech..people sell a lot of junk on ebay...And ebay dont really give you protection ..thats crap!!All they do is send you bills and charge you for every sneeze you do on their market

If you're not surre about what you're buying ask the seller alot of questions, they're usually more than happy to help out, and make sure they have a positive feedback.

yeah, the ebay protection got me nowhere, they gave up...and I paid $20US for the privledge of it. At least I got the SOB banned from ebay.
