Hey guy, Do any of you know if its possible to buy a write-off direct from the insurance companies? or do you have to go to the auctions?

yeah you can't buy write offs from insurance companies cause they use aution houses such as pickles to hold the cars while they process the claim. They get out of paying holding fees by selling the car through the aution house.

Anyone can buy the car from the auctions. Usually wreckers buy the cars. Just be sure that it's not a Stat. write off as these have had their VIN's cancelled and can NEVER be registed, even with a road worthy and engineers.
