Did anyone read Drive today? There is an article about the new boss of Holden who will take over Hanenberger, wants to sell Cadillacs here (hopefully it will included the Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum Edition).

So Ford.... Can we have Lincolns here too? Something to sit above LTD in world class levels? Town Car and Navigator are a must.

Holden can do what they like..i mean really, how many are they thinking they will sell? 50 per month max...and even thats pushing it.

As for Lincolns..they are nice and all but by the time they get here will they be worth it?..Im sure a Fairlane will out do it in most areas anyway. If Ford were desperate they could re-jig a fairlane a bit and badge it a Lincoln.

Plus build quality would be an area of concern, unless America has picked up its game.

Then again just let Holden to the re-badging engineering, its what the do best.

I totaly agree...but how much will a lincoln cost? and what does it have over a fairlane other than a badge?

We already have mini limos....a nice coupe on the other hand would be nice. Is that Mark 9 still a concept?..Now that was nice.

If you ever sit in a Cadillac or Lincoln you notice the quality of difference. One thing i noticed was how thick the doors were. They are just chunkier, built for durability and comfort. Our cars really are just stretched Falcons. Those arents stretched Taurus'

I wouldn't think a Lincoln (or Cadillac for that matter) would sell as well as the Mustangs did...

Why sell the Lexus LS430 when they already have the Avalon Grande??
The Fairlane / LTD is on par with the Crown Victoria, yes it would be silly to bring the Crown Vic. But Lincolns and Cadillacs would be nice to see. With the 5.4 in Aussie Lincolns of course, not the 4.6

When a Caddy or Lincoln are built to Lexus quality then maybe we can take importing them seriously. If the Monaro/Pontiac GTO in the US has been described as "of great quality" particularly for its interior and here in Oz its part of our bread and butter family cars then I don't think the Yanks have a handle on just what a quality car is really and their own US domestic products must be very below average compared to our own big sixes.
