greetings all
some of you may already know but for those of you that dont, the quotes for the new time boards & computer were received 2 weeks ago & after some negotiations the decision was made to go with the same boards that a running at Western Sydney International Dragway with the addition of the boards will flash the MPH & then they will flash KMH, this will help the up & comeing youngsters amongst us

they have been ordered & should arive in around 8 weeks time alowing for the Christmas delay, the estimated completion date to have the boards in & running is Late February, early March

will keep you updated as i get more info

its about time, still calder park needs alot more done then just the boards

G'day Rod, whilst we are on the subject of Calder,
A) Do you know if they are going to get ANDRA sanctioned again so they can run top fuellers in the national competition ?

B) Is there still plans for another track to be built in Victoria so we can be part of the national competition ?

You got that right mate. The facilities need more work, and the attitude of some of the staff need to change also.

its my belife that A.N.D.R.A. will jump at the chance to bring Drag Raceing back to Victoria at Calder Park when the track gets upgraded to there specifications & they are allowed to run the events

B/
D.R.I.V.A. are trying to gather the funds & to get some support from the state government to build a track & all going well it will go ahead but it may be to long to wait for some of us but atleast our children will benifit from it

if the "BRACKS" Government pulled there finger out & Justin Madden devoted a little time to it i belive it would be a lot easier & happen a lot faster

Just quietly guys Bob Jane is spending a few millions on Calder Park at the moment to get it back up to scratch in a bid to get Thunderdome & Drag Racing back. I have a friend working there onsite at the moment although this is on the Thunderdome track as that what the focus is on at the moment. Completing looks like being late 2005 to 2006. Lets hope its all good

I go calder quite a lot, as it is near my house. To me, it seems like the place has really let itself go. I mean, it's like no one cars about it any more ? For god's sake, there isnt even any shade available.
But it does look like they are trying to bring it back to form, I was on thunderdome recently, and it don't look like they've done anything to it. Everything is empty...
