Geoff Polites : Calder Park : XR6-T : Be there or be square

AUSTRALIAN HOT ROD CLUB
Rare Spares Legal Off Street Drags
Sunday 29th September

Dear Geoff.

Have you given any thought to showcasing a couple of XR6 turbos at the upcoming drags?

I'm sure you could find numerous volunteers at your Broadmeadows plant to get behind the wheel on the day.

People will be falling over themselves for the opportunity to take on Ford's new boy wonder.

Something to mull over.

I doubt he will, but i hope he does, and gets a few people to drive it to see what kind of numbers it can really pull without the excuse of hopeless motoring journos.

Geoff, This would be a perfect opportunity to wip out the new car and see what it runs. Journo's are good, but i know there are far better car drivers than them, and the fact that so many people are intreaged, u might even get a few sales off them.

Yeah, should would be great to get someone who knows how to drive behind the wheel. Should get some great times out of the XR6T.

All the journo's reckon Low 13's and Sub 6 second 0-100, but we will never really know until its on the drag strip in the hands of someone capable.

dudes you guys should chill a little on the journo in wheels. In case some of you havent notice the guy who tested the XR6Twas in fact Nathan Ponchard. He has, in fact out of all journo's extracted the fastest times for the T3 TE50 when he wrote for motor and as for others who think they can do better? 1/10 might be as much of a difference as could possibly be achieved given the same conditions as Ponchard. Just give it a run early in the morning in early spring for best times.

I have read journo's say "13 sumthing" never have i read low 13's who has said this? I dont care how bad a driver this wheels guy is there is no way he is going to get a 14.4 out of a low 13 car.
