well i had seen the new camry in car magazines before, but the shock of seeing it in person happened not more than 10mins ago. How in gods name can anyone design such an ugly car is beyond me. AU was disgusting, but the new camry just takes the cake and then some.

The 2001 camry was nice (mum owns one, does good hand brakies) but this MY GOD!

who else has seen this eye sore?

Personally I was never found the '98-to-present day Camry hugely appealing, though its predecessor struck a chord with me with its very neat proportions. The new one looks to be far more modern and classy, and unlike the current Camry has truly all-new styling (I have observed that the '98 model retained the doors of its predecessor). But no, I haven't seen one in the metal.

It was voted the easiest car to wash in the states by a group of detailers.Still UGLY though , the lexus is going to be similar.

I overtook one in port melbourne last week, I thought it looked very toyota ie: plain but not offensive. I wouldn't call it an ugly car though.

I saw the ES300 today myself, as i was walking to work. Seems that there trying to go teh aggressive shap with it's radical headlights and it seems the shape is more of a coocoon than before ie the window area is higher up the waist line of the car.

I'd never buy one, as we have owned a 1993 camry and it gets deadly boring. I think the new one will eventually get that way after a while.

i had the pleasure of driving the new corolla today. not a bad drive, but typical toyota. competent but boring. but i cannot agree with that styling. looks like a civic.

and that isnt good.

sits too upright, feels like a MPV, sluggish (auto and 4 cyl is always a bad combination).

if only toyota could inject some style and fun into their cars. they would kill all the other manufacturers in the market.

I had the latest model Camry as a hire car last time I was in Cairns. Nice car, quiet, comfortable but boring as bat sh*t to drive. I had to keep turning the radio up to stay awake!

These cars though, are made for older couples and they perform that role quite well. Toyota are now trying to reach the younger buyer by making the Camry more sportier. I think that they have a tough job ahead of them.

Yes the new ones are uglier too.
Just another opinion after being trapped in one
for a 3 hour trip once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
