hey guys, I had all this adware installed on my PC which I've mostly gotten rid of...except everytime I open IE, my homepage is set to alfa-search.com or list2004.com and I can't change it. The homepage settings in IE are all greyed out too and I can't change them. How the hell do you get rid of this shit?

I am no geek but from experience when you say adware are you meaning ads and pop-ups and the computer doing funny things? sounds like spyware is the problem try going to www.lavasoftusa.com and download a program called adaware.it will blow you away with the ammount of spyware it finds it fixes all these problems speeds up the computer i run it every week and finds about 10 new ones each time and dont forget the normal maintenance on the computer like scan disc and disc defragment hope this helps greg venomXR6

every time i open up IE i get a pop up within about 5 seconds, usually a different ad but have no idea how to get rid of it. any ideas?

Download a program called Ad-Aware:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
It'll clear out any residual spyware or other malware you may be infected with.

If you can STILL, after running ad-aware, no longer access the options to your internet explorer, either re-install internet explorer, or at worst, reload windows.

I agree with Martin....dowload Ad-aware. Will help get rid of so many pieces of spyware crap.

I tried all this, but AdAware will only fix the symptoms, not the cause.

Search CWShredder.exe on google.com and download it - it will fix all your problems. I had this problem and it annoyed me so much. I downloaded 5 diff programs before this one fixed it.

Trust me, I spent many hours on this problem. Also, download Browser Hijack Blaster which runs whenever you are online, and detects programs trying to change your browser settings, which lets you undo the changes.

If you have no luck finding them, PM me and I will send them to you.
