What do you think Mercury would do to a GT falcon to make it a mercury ie. Would they call it a GT Falcon or is that copyrighted by Ford Aust? I just hope Mercury don't have the poor taste to destroy the Falcon like Pontiac did the Monaro.
However with that sort of exchange rate you could probably get a 220kw Fairmont for similar money to a Taurus which makes the Aussie car look very good. However it would have looked better a couple of years ago when the A$ was worth only about 50Cents US

Mercury needs to do more than import a car to help them. It would be a good start in the right direction though. Their mostly known for being an "old folks" car company in North America and not to many choices to choose from. I would doubt they would use the Falcon or Fairmont names. Remember those car names have already been used here before.
