I have a Sprinter that I think I had the transmission connector unhooked when I started the engine. This set a code in the transmission that put it in Limp Mode. I went to the dealer to get it cleared and it wouldn't clear. After alot of back and forth and studying the wiring diagrams and troubleshooting, I found that the K-line from the TCU to the DLC is open. I finally realized that if the K-line is open, the scanner never talked to the TCU. - This is correct, correct?
So, if I dig in can't and find and fix the broken wire, why not just run another wire? Is there anything special about the wire? I know that the K-line just goes from Pin 11 on the DLC to Pin 1 on the TCU and pin 2A on the radio (which isn't used now). So why not just run that wire?
Am I over-thinking this and worrying over nothing?
