Cannonball run across America anyone?

I'm thinking a bit of patriotism here, maybe send over a very clean T3? or wait until next year and send over an XR8, GT or GTHO? just to show the world the best muscle is Aussie muscle!!...in a perfect world of course.

Players Run
The Players Run 2003
Playersrun will start on February 15th 2003 in Los Angeles at a secret (but very prominent ) starting point. Here, you will receive your first clues that will lead you to the first driving event. From there you will continue to, well, this is a secret, for your first overnight stop. More than 2500 miles on the road, racetracks and other driving events and many more clues to solve are awaiting you now. You will almost touch the Mexican border, than make your way to through Texas to New Orleans and from there down to Florida. Be prepared to look good for media since we have several teams on board. You have to arrive in Miami in time to make it to the secret spot for the grand finale.

The event is only as competitive as you want it to be. We use a point system for every driving event. At the end we add up the points to declare the winner. On public highways only the time difference between the set time and the time given in the logbook will be taken into account. On ‘closed roads events’ the closest average time to your tech time gets you maximum points. On track events the fastest time brings in the most points. On drag strips and other tracks the winning time is calculate in again another way, and so on. This ensures an equal chance for every competitor to win. We will also give you other interesting challenges to solve that again will count for overall. On the other hand you may just want to enjoy the route and some of the most beautiful scenery the southern US has to offer. Either way in the case you get stuck you will have access to immediate assistance.

Every day you will leave around 9:00 am ( with the destination address in a sealed envelope ).
At the grand finale you will then hopefully be rewarded with an award. Despite being exhausted from this week you will party into the night with your new friends. ..and plans for next years Playersrun adventure are already being discussed…

That'd be a great idea. Maybe Ford Australia should look into it as a bit of publicity? Looks like fun.

That'd be cool... wonder if I can get the US maps for my Sat Nav? And get the voice programmed to keep saying, "Drive on the Right! Drive on the Right!" :)

They don't have to be stock, they have to be unique or exotic cars. I found this CannonBall Run while looking for the video of the GumBall 3000 CannonBall Run (held earlier this year), both I would think, would be very similar. Here's a 15mb teaser of the GumBall 3000 just to give you an idea of the cars that were in it.
