Not really after a "they look crap" set of replies, but more after people who have used and do use them and would they use them again? I do some interstate travel with the XR and the amount of dead bugs on the front end is unbelievable at the moment from a quick trip into the country. That is why I was thinking about a bra - just for the long haul down the Hume to Mexico and back. Anyone else do this? Does it have any adverse affects (real not implied) on cooling or paint surfaces?

I had one on my Series III XR....money well spent if you ask me. I do a lot of interstate drives and if you looked at my "bra" you would've seen rips in it where stones had hit the car.
As for cooling...didn't notice one bit of change at all. My suggestion is to fit clean soft rags between the car on the "bra" to avoid possible rubbing.
Cheers
Brad

I dont trust em. Cars are not meant to have bras, if they were there woulda been two mounds for em to hang onto.
The guy I bought mine off used a car bra and if you look at my bonnet at the right angle in the right light you can see small circles where the bra rubbed against the bonnet.
Personal choice though I guess.

I have used them on two cars now, my current EL and previous XH. Swear by them. My two golden rules are wash the car before fitting it, and take it off as soon as your trip is done. Never seen any rubbing marks in my paintwork from them and they do protect against stone damage.

Low, Loud. How a Ford should be.
I only use them on country trips, they certainly save your car from stone chips and keep it a lot cleaner from the bugs.
Cheers John

Ive had Two Bra's, and yes i agree with all the points raised above.
Also i put a coat of wax on under the bra before i use it, just to give it that little bit more protection.
It works every time.
I've had a bra on my last 4 cars, efxr6, au2 xr8, te50 and GTp, and have never had a problem. As had already been mentioned here, don't wash the car with the bra on, take it
off when you reach your desitination and give the car some extra polish around the bra area. I have had some minor rubbing, but nothing that compares with stone chips. Personally, wouldn't be without one on a long trip.

Thanks for the replies guys - that's pretty much confirmed it for me. I will only put it on for the trip up and down the hume. Do you guys use the Robco ones?
