Hey guys, I need your help. Im lookin at buyin a car, between about 6 - 9 g's. But there are a few things I need from it;

1. It must be manual. Ive had a look at ef's, but its bloody hard to find one thats manual.

2. must be relatively fuel efficient.Im going to be doing a fair bit of highway driving, so I would want a car thats not gonna cost too much to run. Which is what has turned me off buying an ef, its almost impossible to find one a manual , duel fuel setup, with relatively low k's and good nick.

3. Must have some guts about it!

So here are the cars im concidering.
-EF/EB2/ED
-Nissan Silvia (Ca18det)
-Escort RS2000 (althought I dont know that much about these but ive heard they are a pretty sweet little car)
-Ford capri turbo?

Any ideas on any other cars I could possibly concider?
All input would be greatly appreciated!

Mazda 626/Ford TX5 Ghia. Make sure it's the 2.5l V6 version though, just for the extra squirt.

I'm not sure how fuel-efficient a Nissan Silvia is, but I am sure the cost of insurance ought to scare you away, not to mention the cost of spare parts and maintenance.

is fwd an issue?
If so then you'll never get the bargian and all round performer than a manual EB/ED will give you.
Get one of those you would be getting one in perfect condition for that amount.
OR buy an Auto fairmont and convert it to manual (the change left over from a ED fairmont should get the conversion done)
if you don't care about FWD you will once you have one.
FWD the Mx6 would be great or a modern telstar tx5, 626.
Subaru Liberty is another option (maybe even a 4wd version if your lucky)
OR a 89 318i BMW and they are rear drivers.

The Escort RS2000 would be my pick, but parts aren't cheap. Otherwise, a manual falcon, and if you want it on gas use some of the left over dosh for an LPG conversion.

You cant go past a Nissan Silvia for outright performance on a budget - providing you dont mind their drab styling and high insurance costs.

You will be very lucky to find a manual EF for that price, though they can be found!
But you could pick up a nice EBXr6 manual that would be my choice.
