Car 'rebirthing' racket smashed
From the Daily Telegraph
AN extensive car rebirthing and property theft racket with international links has been smashed following a major police operation in Sydney.
Over 400 police from federal and NSW crime agencies swooped on more than 20 locations around the city early today, executing search warrants.
They found stolen property and cars believed to be destined for overseas, a police spokeswoman said.
The operation, called Strike Force Worth, involved the Australian Customs Service, Australian Federal Police, the National Crime Authority, the Roads and Traffic Authority, the Department of Fair Trading and several insurance companies.
