Mine is my old series "S" Valiant bought in 78 for $800.
Came with 225 ci slant six, Toqueflight 727 pushbutton auto.
Taught me alot about early valiants, like the passenger side wheels had left hand thread studs (found that out the hard way), and with a pushbutton auto you can select any gear at any speed including reverse at 50mph.

Did some fairly radical mods to the old girl, including 3 paint jobs in 3 days (really, really drunk).
Rebored her to 250, Tripple 45mm DCOE Webbers, Paceys, and Cam. went like a bat outta hell.
These things were built like tanks, any other car that hits one comes off seriously second best
Lost my virginity on the back seat.
Unfortunatly after spending time in hospital after a motor cycle accident I came home to find my dad had sold her.
I still see her around today, tried to buy her back a few times but the guy wont part with her..
She runs a big Hemi these days, gives the local Rices heart attacks .. Gotta love that.
The guy that owns her says he often endures Kamikaze attacks by lesser vehicles, but the old girl always comes through with flying colours

My first car, a MKII Ford Ecort panelvan. It had perfect panel and paint (white) with a wussy 1.3l auto. Slow as hell but such a cool car. Also lost my virginity in the back

1966 XP falcon ute... the only car I made good money on. Had a 250, column manual, 4.11 diff gears, and handled like a boat, but it was a fun cool car and the only car I miss out of the 30 odd that I've owned.

My first ever brand new car which was a 1979 4 door 2.0l Escort Rally Pack Manual mildly worked, complete suspension fit out. Gee I loved that car.

H'mmm what marriage and children do to you. Later found out that the Esky went for a swim in Sydney Harbour after being stolen, dammed unhappy way for it to end.

I miss my XF, it was a lump but it had a strong 351 in it. It would scare the crap out of newer more expensive cars and it sounded awesome.
My parents said there wasnt enough room for it in the driveway then 2 weeks later bought my sister a barina wreck which is still there today! Grrr.

I want my first ever car back, a TC Cortina, damn that was a great car, for a 4cyl it had heaps of power and go, 6,200 rpm red line, 3.7 diff ... oh well

I think this thread could almost be called I miss my first car ...... lol

I still have my first car (XF) and the reasons some of you got rid of these cars are starting to rise to the surface for me. Gearbox is stuffed, rust is starting to take over and now the electrics/alternator are playing up.

After four years I'm sick to death of it and I know when the time comes to sell it there will be no tears.

LOL - you just wait till its gone, you will miss it soon enough
