Good to see a drivers impression finally. I would expect MOTOR to get similar times in the new XR8 as they did in the AUII TE50, if not a bit quicker. The TE is recorded at 6.3seconds and 14.6, now with the 220 XR8 having a stronger engine throughout the rev range, I can't see why they should'nt be able to duplicate these times.

That extra 20kg over the front worries me though. Might be enough to make a difference against the TE if the Xr is fully loaded with extras

they say 6.6 0-100, why do they say that? but id rather Ford's performance claims to be pesimistic and then us getting supprised afterwards than HSV claiming am optimistic 13.3 and 5.1 0-100 and getting dissapointed afterwards (GTS best time 0-100 was 5.31 and 1/4mile 13.5).

p.s. They say it will be 20kw heavier. Does that mean 20kg heavier than the current 200kw xr8 or 20kg heavier than the TE50. Does anyone know how much both XR8 and TE50 kirb weight is?

According to Motor Mag:

XR8 = 1660kg
TE50 = 1664kg

and while we are on the subject of weight:

TS50 =1708kg
SS comm =1652kg
HSV R8 = 1706kg
HSV GTS = 1710kg
CSV Veloce = 1660kg
BMW M5 =1720kg

Some porky cars there!
