I see on the news today that the roadsafe Nazi's in Victoria want to ban people for up to a year if they are caught going 25km or over. Not content with contravening the Aust design standards with their crazy tolerances on speeding now they want to do this. Did someone in power have their dog run over or something???
I think someone in power should be RUN over.
Muhahaha!!

Barring an emergency, how in the world can anybody justify going 25+ km over the speed limit. It's just asking for trouble & is an accident waiting to happen.
I thinks it's stupid, I mean on the freeways in a good car doing 25K/mh over isnt going to be a problem, I dont see how doing this will reduce the road toll, all it will do is raise up police revenu !
and thats what its all about MONEY !
Look at Europe that has motorways with unlimited speed limits and they have alot less deaths on the road than what we do !
What this is really about is poor driver education, Its too easy to get your liscense and still be a shit driver with bad judgement and over confidence, and thats what is the biggest problem with australian drivers ! We need to do somthing to teach people better in the first place, instead of handing them a liscense and allowing them to just learn on their own !

their is a special on that show "Totay Tonight" this week where they put some young guys with high powered cars to the test and most of them fail ! I think we should all watch it, I might tape it and bring the tape to the next XR Club meeting !

1. This is not a revenue raising exercise - if it was they would simply be increasing the fines and not reducing the point at which automatic license loss occurs. In that sense, this measure serves to remove those who act in an irresponsible manner from our roads.
2. Whilst this is a good measure in most respects, the lack of cohesive action from motorists in opposing these decisions will just leave us open to more of them. It's a clever tactic really. Even if you disagree with this current decision (whcih I don't) you are hardly going to achieve widespread public support for doing 25 km/h over the limit. In that sense we need to fight the battles we can win, where the decisions are stupid (like the 3 km/h tolerance) and leave the others alone.
Don't think it will end here. Undoubtedly we are going to see further extensions of this zero tolerance policy adopted and until there is some organised lobbying against the stupid ones this is going to be a State where we all spend our time watching the speedo and not the road.
