600ci Ford SVO block, 1,234horsepower at the fly.
Next was the big test was the big Ford going to make the numbers on the dyno? The engine was taken to the Superflow engine dyno of Zararkas. Here the engine was bolted in place & the fuel cell filled with VP16 racing fuel. After firing & warming up the engine to check that everything was ok the first pull was done, a redline of 7,000 was programmed into the Dyno's computer, this would have to be one of the most nerve racking moments in my life. The pull was over in a matter of a few seconds, when the printout came out & it was smiles all round recording 885 hp. A couple more pulls were done with some minor timing adjustments to confirm the first. The 3rd pull achieved 894 hp . Then the nitrous was hooked up with the dual stage Big Shot set with 325 hp jets. The next pull resulted in a awesome 1,234 hp, that's 349 hp increase, confirming that all the we had done in the engine build up to enhance nitrous performance, had worked better than expected. To say we were happy would be a gross understatement. The volumetric efficiency (VE) was a amazing 120% naturally aspirated out of a single four barrel engine!
