Well I am doing a manual conversion over the next 2 months..... and I just got this nice White theft recovered eb2 for $1250..... no VIN or anything.... anyways I was dying to take it for just a little drive so I took it for a spin around the block once and of course the cops caught me..... jsut my luck, after not seeing them for the whole day of working on the front lawn.... $500 bucks.... I cant afford this kind of money so I am gonna have to go down their and see if I can do some good old community service or something..only get $300 a fortnight for my fuel to tafe... dont like my chances of him giving me community service either, he is a barstard of a cop.... he's probably 20 minutes off reading this... but ya think I would get a warning or a couple of points taken off but $500 is pathetic

i got a stolen recovered XF panalvan the other week. it too had no VIN plate or anything, except the engine and chassis number were still intact and matching. vicroads said it was on their computer so just get it roadworthy and itll all be good.
any trouble with being allowed to put your back on the road?
as for the fine the only way to get community service is to take it to court and just say that theres no way possible to pay this fine.

If you hadn't of driven it you wouldn't have got busted. The cops are doing their job so don't complain. The penalties for that are set in stone so you won't get community service. You can however, write to civic compliance and ask to be able to pay it off.
Try taking some responsibility for your own actions and their consequences instead of whining.

If its older than 87 then it can be registered without the VIN plate..... being an xf it most likely would be below 87.... I'd have to buy the VIN back which costs to much so I just gonna sell it to a wreckers for $300-400 or something..... I'm probably still gonna go to court soon as I cant really afford to pay for it now I stopped working..... and I am whining because it was my first offence apart from a parking ticket.... simple warning should have been the go.... instead of hitting me like I robbed a bank
