That guy sounds like a paedophile, picking on young boys all the time.

Re: Cops on forums

um... this is a question that is asked with out any form of legal know-how or experience… how can a forum account (comprised of a login name, avatar, and a bunch of textual posts) be linked to a physical person?

I could sign up as "Mr T", take photos of my neighbours car with licence plates. Photoshop it such that it sits obviously illegally low and post that I have abused my girlfriend / boyfriend or taken part in a robbery or whatever. Is my neighbour liable?

The only thing I would think to be incriminating is posting video clips perhaps.

Re: Cops on forums

They can read what you have done to your car on the net, spot you on the road and tell you exactly what you have done and then bend you over.
It seems a lot of import owners on those forums live near me which is this pettit's playing ground.

Re: Cops on forums

I dont think they care much about falcons. Honestly how many of them are that modified that they are not legal?? There is bugger all.
It more the imports which have common mods that are not legal, Blow off valves, Power to weight etc.
A falcon isnt exactly a high powered car compared to these modded imports.

Re: Cops on forums

Something tells me that the probability of reading about what someone has done to their car, and spotting that exact car on the road, and remembering everything illegal about it is sooooo tiny, it's just not funny. And thats _if_ they post something identifiable about the car, as well as the illegal mods.

If I said my car is 5mm off the road, has a gutted cat, and produces 5000rwkW, and I'm on my P's and drive a Silver EA... wow, that cuts it down soooo much it's not funny, given that I only see 2-3 other Silver EA P-plater drivers a week!

I guess if it's an import, and theres a few people with these imports in a specific area (eg. Knox) AND they're all dumb enough to say where they are and what illegal mods they have.. well, **** it, they're just too retarded anyway

In short, unless you post personal details, and a list of illegal mods / activities on the forums, the cops wouldn't have much to go on anyway.

Re: Cops on forums

Well I can say that this cop asked another import driver about my mate and even asked the guy about his screen name. My mate was overseas at the time and came home to a message that he had to visit the police station. Im not sure what for though. He is going tomorrow.
Ill post it here when I find out why he was asked in.

difference in this case is that the car in question in bright orange with a CF bonnet, pretty easy to pick.

I honestly couldn't give a stuff, I dont know what is worse to be honest, some punk in a 400kw 180 or a rusted out unroadworthy EA. Both are dangerous and can inflect the same amount of damage if circumstances fall the wrong way.
