Cops go too far (Helicopter speed checks!)
Went to Mt Buller skiing on Saturday, beaut day!!
On the way though, i was speeding as usual, just missed 2 SS pursuit cars as oncoming radar over an hour or so, some reason i slowed to just 10 over (dont usualy bother at that speed). Past Mansfield, there was the odd car flashing their lights :-) at us, so slowed a bit. There was a chopper hovering at a good height over the road, there are markings with metreages every 500m on the road to 3000m, the chopper was doing average speed checks on the cars in a 100 zone, then after the 3000 metres the zone changes to an 80 round a nice bend, then another maybe 200 metres into the 80 zone were 2 cops with lasers pointing at the speeders the chopper noticed in the air. They would obviously either stand out on the road and wave over the speeders caught and radiod by the chopper or if they are lucky, the speeder would slow down a little slow into the 80 zone and they would really give em a big fine. The cops in the Bus stop had an XR8 and an SS hiding back behind a little church or something.
I Gave the cops a real cheesy wave :-) and they waved back.
I dont know whats going on here, but i think the cops are just having fun and we all pay. Could there be an easier job than being a traffic cop? And now we are also paying for chopper pilots and choppers to just fly around having a nice old time?
Saw 3 more pursuit cars on the way home!
No wonder we have to be caught so much to pay for all this stuff!
