I use Nero and I haven't had any problems with *backing up* any cd's yet.
Sometimes you have to do it a fiddly way (back dooring.. stop that, pervs!).. that just means you don't use disc to disc, or whatever it's called on your program.
well metallica's new cd was meant to be protected, i had no trouble making mp3 copy & a back up copy of it using the programmes i have, nero, clonecd & easy cd-da extractor

Download it from one of the file sharing programs; Kazaa or LimeWire etc.

Just got it started Animalistic I tell ya http://www.freewebs.com/tzenu
pfft, just say what you mean - you wanna burn it! no need for this 'backup copy' bs. If anyone asks me why I do it, well its just the backup of the backup of the backup etc etc...........
My version of Nero can burn anything, but its been 'tweaked' - got it from a mate who can pretty much make a computer deal cards if he wants it to.
Only thing I can suggest is that you rip the CD into MP3 format using Windows Media, then burn to CD using those MP3 files.
Nero is good but sometimes it stuffs up..........

Hehe wasn't sure if you guys tolerated 'backing up' of copyrighted cds. Having burnt serveral hundred cds and dvds I find that CloneCD is the best, and for dvd's CloneDVD. Nero 6 is better than earlier versions but every now and then it just dies and spits out coasters.
I have a back-up of Metallicas new cd (it suck anyways) that I used CloneCD to do it it works fine, having a feeling the same protection is used with Robbies cd. good luck

if all else fails this method works pretty good. unless you have a codec for media player, they will come out as [.wma] format not mp3. If you trasfer the mp3s to a cd make sure your cd player supports mp3 format otherwise you can't play it
thx guy's normally dont have a problem have nero and few others, i have been reading a forum oversea's on this i am trying program called ''Exact Audio Copy'' i let know how it goes the robbie williams cd has a protection i never seen before...
I have successfully 'backed up' the new robbie williams cd using clone cd. I couldn't extract the mp3's off the original version though, although once I had the 'backup' I could extract the mp3's from that version.
In my experience CloneCD absolutely rocks.
