Well, I renember when we went through that Van Art stuff back in the 70's. It was O.K. on a van but, it got out of controol. I beleve that custom paint jobs can be O.K. as long as it doesn't get too carried away and try to overwhelm the natural lines of the car! I feel that many pickups around here come with some bad graphics from the factory. I should add that I am a conservative person. Still some of these wavy ,squirrely, graphis have gotten out of controol. I guess I have to see it to say if I like it or not.

I totally agree with that. A custom paint job can be fantastic when properly done, but I am seeing more and more BAD work at every show. Even the truck shows are sporting pitiful airbrush work... makes me sick :( Tell me I am not the only one seeing this!

I do not care for the purple chromeillusion (sp?) that is starting to show up at every show either. yuk. :(

best work I have seen this year was purple ghost flames on a black vette, THAT was sweet!!! he also had a skull airbrushed on the front lic. plate filler. you could only see the flames at certain angles it was the best thing I have seen all year.

I saw a black stang with its butt dipped in ORANGE at the last show I went to :( looks soooo ricey :(

i have been thinking on getting some ghost flames on the impy. But of course i am going to wait on that. Gonna let Phil do his magic on it first.

Personally, I love custom paint jobs -- as long as they are done tastefully. Some of the newer layer upon layer of Nike swooshes are overkill, but if you have a few, they aren't bad. Flames, scallops, fades... they're all cool too. But then again, it depends on the car that is painted... a flamed Yugo probably won't cut it. LOL

The only downside is if you do it to a daily driver, you've got to baby the car or truck that much more -- especially if it's really detailed or even worse, one of those new Chameleon paints. I've heard that the Chameleons would require repainting the entire vehicle if it was wrecked because they are impossible to color match.

You thinking of painting one of yours, Mod?
