I'm getting messages popping up every 5 seconds telling me a program has requested a connection from www.yahoo.com and is asking me to connect to the net.
Ive got Spybot, Adaware and Antivirus updated daily yet this is still happening, and as far as i am aware i have no programs that would require anything from yahoo (i havent installed any anyway). This is only a recent occurence.
Can someone help me out with a way to stop it from asking me?
Try clearing out your cache (I doubt many people will agree with me on that one, but it has helped me with bugs before) and running a firewalll if you're not already. Zone Alarm should do the trick.
Go to www.grc.com also and do a shields up and port scan, it will tell you where whatever it is (the Yahoo thing), is getting in, you'll be surprised at how vulnerable your PC is.
STILL happening - this is after running a full antivirus scan, having ZA on 24/7, as well as using Spybot and Adaware.
Beef - the messages arent coming up though, ZA, theyre a windows message that comes up and says - 'you (or a program) have requested a connection to www.yahoo.com' etc etc.
I have checked through all the programs and stuff i have on here and i have not been able to find anything that comes from or requires Yahoo to work.
Is there a way to deny programs the right to request an internet connection?
Yahoo Campanion is a program that runs on your IE and will try and get Internet Access. Check your add/remove programs in control panel and see if you have Yahoo Campanion installed
