I'm a non starter unfortunately.

Will it still be possible to read a summary of the event later on Luke?

I should be right, but would you be able to give us a hint on what department this employee is coming from so we can submit relevant questions?

About Ian Mearns:

Ian has worked for Ford for eighteen years undertaking numerous roles including Sales, Fleet, Marketing, Consumer Finance and Used Cars.
Ian has spent three years working in Europe and North America on future product planning which saw him involved with the development of the Escort, Focus, Mondeo and the new Focus C-Max.

Ian is responsible for four key areas within Ford Australia's Marketing and Sales department. The areas and their functions are:

Sales Programming

This area determines how many vehicles Ford Australia is going to build, import, export and sell (in total and also for each nameplate). Sales Programming also forecast the size of the Industry, the composition of the Industry (segmentation) and the market share that Ford will achieve.

Sales Planning and Distribution

This area decides the type and mix of vehicles that Ford Australia is going to build and import (model series, engines, transmissions, colours, options etc). Sales Planning and Distribution also determine production timing (Build Month) for each vehicle and distribute available production to Ford Dealers.

Sales Systems

This area provides all the IT resources required to allow vehicles to be ordered, built, invoiced, shipped and retailed. Ford's Vehicle Information System (VIS) allows Dealers to enquire on vehicles and make specification changes in 'live' time.

Field Operations

This area is responsible for all communications with both our Field staff and Dealers. Field Operations also assists Dealers with vehicle queries or any unusual specification changes. This area also establishes quarterly and monthly sales targets for all Ford Dealers.
