Hi all just a quick question. If I am buying a 1 year old 2nd hand car from
a dealer Is there a dealer delivery charge? Or is the final price whats on
the window (or what we agree on)

Some friends are telling me the charge only applies on new vehicles and some are saying that all the cars in the yard get it.

Usually new cars only. Dealer delivery charge is to ....ahem.... cover freight, detailing etc to get the car ready for sale. Basically, it's the fixed profit that the dealer gets paid by the buyer.

Don't know what Perth laws are, but I would imagine the same as most other states - so that means you should not pay Dealer delivery on a second hand car, (which includes 'new' demo models.)

No, as JCV8 said dealer delivery charges cover stuff like freight, storage, pre-delivery, and detailing.

A second hand car from a dealership are usually sold at a premium price which covers any panel and other repairs which are done prior to the car going out in the yard.

So it's fairly safe to say that the price on the window is the price that you'll be forking out.
