Hi all,
After many years of trying I have finally convinced my better half that we need 2 more cylinders and a clutch pedal in our family car. (The trade off is that I have to sell my XYGT replica and buy a car for my daughter).
My dilema is do I wait for the XR8(follow my heart) or do I go for an XT 5.4 with a heap of extras(follow my head)???
Either way it will be part of my Salary Package so $$ are not the critical point although approx $10k saving speaks very loudly!!
I would appreciate any opinions as I intend to make a final decision next week.
Looks make alot of difference while driving. You'll enjoy people looking at you everytime you stop at red lights. I assume you'll have a quiet drive most of time and once or twice flooring it? So go for XR 6 or 8, rather than XT with hidden 5.4 that no one would notice it.
Even the fairmont v8 exhaust are hidden somewhere, I'd rather everyone knows I'm driving a killer V8 without having to show off everytime, you know what I mean?

XR8 anyday and as you mentioned follow your heart.........
You will be pulled up at the lights with an XR next to you and think "i should have got the XR" better still how about when a LS1 pulls up next to you " woooohoooo "

If I was in your position (lucky bugger! ), I would be looking at resale value as well. You will find it much easier to flog off an XR8 than an XT with all the xtras. Your choice though... Would the money saved on buying the XT go towards something worthwhile?
Either way buddy, you won't be disappointed!
Good luck and happy hunting!

If the $10K isn't the big issue, than certainly the XR8. Long after you have made the purchase you will forget what you paid for it (and could have saved), you are the one who will drive the thing every day and constanly get extra pleasure from it, that an XT V8 would possibly not give (even choccas with options).
