Have read over at LS1.com.au that there is a delay due to issues with the V6? Can anyone here with strong contacts at holden get little more info on this? I am not starting a flame so I don't want no crap like Holden is Sh!t. I want to know more about the problem if there is one or is the dealer in question lying?

I heard there was some teething problems with the first 1000 v6s through the lines - not quite sure waht it was, rather simple from memory.

Anyway, its not uncommon to have a few problems here and there with a new model or engine.

Some one on the forums said that 1 in 2 engines that were coming off the line were not starting. I haven't heard anything else to confirm this.

Except it's not an new engine as Holden have been building export versions for a year. I think its more of a problem with a particular batch caused by metal in the steering fluid in one case and incorrect valve length in another case (taken from LS1) which has resulted in VZ delivery delays as the faults are fixed where installed into cars.

Yes i have heard 2 of these, 1 was some engines werent starting, and the other was that the supposedly high quality power steering pumps were failing when the wheels were turned on full lock at above 4000 or so rpm. How true is anyones guess

The issue with the engines not starting was to do with when they were placing the engines un the car that quite often the computer was getting knocked by the engine as it was being lowered into place. They have since built a special cover that goes over the computer during the process. Took em a lil while to figure out why the bloody things weren't going though.
