Dell Laptop User's - Help Needed Here!

Hi Ladies & Gents, Lads & Lasses,

Today happened to be the day that my laptop was accidentally dropped (after several of those I thought it was almost invincible to impact damage) but today it died.

I have called Dell, followed all their steps to resuscitate the damn thing, but to no avail - which means about a fortnight until I get it back from Dell.

My question to those using or know of Dell Inspiron series laptops, is the hard drive physically the same size and have a common connection on all the Inspiron series? There is some information in there that I really could use for some of my uni assignments that are soon falling due.

My deceased laptop is an Inspiron 8200.

Cheers,

James.

i think there are 2 differnt types of laptop drives, 3 inch, and 2 inch.... all 3 are the same, and all 2 are the same

As far as I know the hard disk will be the same as any other. I've seen insipron 3k, 5k, 4100 and 8k and all have been the same (obviously changing in disk space).... same as any other notebook..
