Thumbs down Did anyone else notice this in Wheels...

They had a whole page on the new commodore engines, and on the page right next to it they had the Barra engine block ... I know they had writing there saying that was what it is, but it still strikes me as being wrong for some reason ... anyone else got any thoughts on this?

I think it is a good thing, having been battered around by the media for the last 4 years, to pretty much saturation coverage, bring it on!!!! They cant even talk about anything Holden anymore without raving about BA in the article!!!

When you show a Ford block near a Holden must be saying something. Are they going to use it in the next generation Holden a DOHC Falcon donk- lol Now that would be a turn up for the books if I ever saw one !

O yeah I forgot to add they had at the bottom (where the engine was showed on a page by itself next to the article on Holdens upcoming V6) in white quoted medium sized (fairly big) lettering "The design detail of the HFV6 is very impressive" ... thats what got me a bit pissed (with tiny lettering explaining the block is a ford engine ... gah) :dead:

Actually fellas it was a BA cylinder head they were showing not a block. But yes the article said nothing about the holden motor really. Just where it comes from and size etc it says nothing about approx power or anything. Wheels only advantage was that they were the first mag on the shelves with an official drive on the BA. They really have lost the plot. They may as well have chick pics so we can buy it and say we only read it for the articles.

Yes, I'm in full agreeance (is that even a word???) that wheels has lost it. MOTOR magazine is a much more 'forfilling' read than wheels IMO. The only reason that I bought the current Wheels was that I thought they'd have a comparo of the XR6T and SS. Oh well, that's $7.50 that I could have spent on something else.

(although, they did make a good point in the 'smokin'' column, about how once cars sell big in America, they become flabby, less performance orientated, and alot more ugly usualy. Cite the The new honda range....)

Agreement and fulfilling are the words you were after ford.boy

Seriously that has to be one of the best reviews of a ford product that I have seen in wheels.

Power for the HFv6 is being estimated at 190kw (source MOTOR)
