Just read teh June Motor magazine. Must say it has a few cool articles in there from the Barra article, GENIII comparo's and teh article i found most interesting: Better Six which tests the Rallyart Magna and the Monaro CV6.
The Magna in a manual posted 0-100km/h times of 7.19 and 1/4's of 15.26 which is pretty decent i reckon.
The Monaro on the other hand with the Supercharged Buick 6 posted times of 0-100 8.43 and 1/4's in 16.12. Sure it's an auto but i seriously thought it'd be quicker than that. Ahh well next time i see a CV6 at the lights i'd show the the driver abit of ford power. :s6: :s6:

You may be waiting a while before that happens, apparantly the CV6's are few and far between. I heard a figure somewhere that of the first 300 Monaro's sold 299 were CV8's
Yer, way slow, I used to own a SS supercharged for a litle while, stock it would do @7.5 seconds only available in auto though. Do a couple of simple mods and 7 seconds was easy.
well a cv6 monaro at 171kw (supercharged) and the 180kw beefed up magna... those reports of the new av being apparently 180kw would put them to shame! Imagine the wife draggin them off in ya dunga falcon model on the way to droppin the kiddies off at school!

Thats interesting that time of 8.43 for the 0 - 100. IMO thats very very poor. I would expect it to be alot quicker than that. From memory the Supercharged S when tested has always been pretty quick (in the mid 7s for the 0 - 100).
Its wired most of these Monaros when tested have been slower than the sedan versions. The only one I can remember going quicker was the GTO which Motor tested and was the first 255kw V8 HSV they had got to go under 14. (albeit 13.99).

I ran one at calder park in my RX4 the other weekend and went by it like it was standing still :)
it ran 14.7 at 92 mph and i ran a dissapointing 13.9 but at 106 :)
I lined up an SS Ls1 but my cooler pipe was blown off and i didnt know, so i didnt get to kill one of those :(
the blue blood still pulses thru my viens hehehehe
my daily driver\tow car is a ZL fairlane, and she does the job well :)
I havent seen a CV6 (what a friggin stupid idea anyway) on the road at all, but ive seen anough CV8's to make me sick...
I hope that when (if) ford ever re-release the GT line again that it is strickly a limited model... even my mate who is a hardcore holden fan loves it when he sees a newer/older GT, just becuase they are that rare :)
(first time ive been back to this site in a while lol.. lookin the goods too fellas!! )
