Time for a new digital camera! wheres a good and cheap place to go in melbourne?

Hey Snavy, I brought a digi cam a few months ago (Canon A40) and I found the cheapest place to get them from was this place http://www.dirtcheapcameras.com.au/. They are internet based however I found there service excelent and I can highly recommend them. At the time when I brought my camera, they had it over $100 cheaper than anywhere else I found.

I bought my Kodak DX3600 from http://www.ht.com.au that's Harris Technology, a sidemeal of Myers. And it's not expensive! I got mine at least $80 cheaper than anywhere else, and it does 1800x1600 @ 2.2 Megapixel which is damn awesome photos. At night it's not too bad either, could do with a bigger flash. Also does movies, their not too shabby, however, I'm yet to find a program that'll let me modify them so they are smaller.

Still, all in all, it's a good package.

Find the lowest price you can, then go and haggle at JB Hifi. That's what I did, and managed to get my Canon Powershot S40 for $1460 at a time when they were retailed at $1899 and "discounted" everywhere to a minimum of $1699.

Great unit and you should be able to pick one up now for ~$1300 with some haggling.

Ive just bought a Pentax Optio 330RS for $870 including delivery and a 16MB compact flash card. 3.2 megapixel etc etc. The only thing it doesnt seem to do is make cups of coffee. Awaiting delivery next week. There is also an optional waterproof case which allows you to take pictures at depths up to 40meters.
