I know I sohould post this in the trans section but I thought I would get more replies here.

Im wondering how sensitive these transmissions are to not having TQ95 in them. the reason I ask Im about to do a service and am wondering whether to put in TQ95 or some expensive Audi ATF I can get from work for free which is high lubricity and supposed to be really good. Other guys here have stuck it in their own cars before but never in a Ford box!

Any thoughts???

Now let me see - pay $20 for oil and know u r doing the right thing or pay $0 and have it cost u $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to fix later- your choice.

well i put in Castrol TQ Dexron III a while back and mines fine. it actually stopped leaking after i put that in.

Of course now TQ85 is now known as TQ95 and there are other suitable alternatives available as well...

The TQ95 oil has something like 1000 times more anti wear additives than normal dexron to lbe the planetary gears in the 4 speed.That's how it was described to me as the difference.

dex lll is fine and ya dont get that color change i was told that by a bloke that builds trans i use it in mine and had no worrys
