Re: Do you want your car exhaust quiet or loud or somewhere in between?
quiet at idle and reasonable to about 2500 rpm, then it should start to bark above that, dont know how possible that can be, that way you can cruise at low revs and be normal, or floor it and hear the engine in all its glory.
Well thats my opinion.

Re: Do you want your car exhaust quiet or loud or somewhere in between?
nothing more annoying after having a quite car is a car that roars doing 100kmh, specially if you have to listen to it for hours on end. like others have said, quiet at idle (maybe a little burble) just above quiet at speed (even 100kmh) but roars like the shithouse when you floor it! sound should be there when you want to hear it. you shouldnt have to hear it because its there all the time.
thats my opinion anyway.

I love it at calder when the turbo cars blow away the absolutely roaring no pipes 351's or whatever.
From the stands you cant hear some of the turbos at all. Its almost like they are electric. Thats what I would love to have on the street. Its kind of like a sleeper effect for your motor.
It would have to be better for less police attention as well.

one time at the drags 2 Jap NSX's i think went against each other, they both pulled respectable times cant remember them, but they were quiet as anything, all you heard was a whistle of the exhaust as the turbo's spooled up and they dissapeared down the 1/4.

Re: Do you want your car exhaust quiet or loud or somewhere in between?
Mine turned out exactly how i wanted it. sexy enough to be heard at idle, sporty up to about 4000rpm then it dies off a bit above 4000rpm all the way to 6800rpm redline. I wanted to hear exhaust at low take off, engine at high revs and not loud screaming buzz and I wanted no drone at all. Sounded hard but at 60km/h it's a little louder than stock, at 100km/h it's barely inaudible and in between it sounds just right. Looks stock enough too with a 4 inch rolled chrome tip instead of the 2 1/2 inch standard.
