Hey all, just letting you all know that eafalcon.com series 3 is almost complete, just a few small pages to go and the links to be added, and it should be set.
Now, series 3 will have the members list back online. Karl our membership officer has sent me the database of everyones membership details, and I have transferred it to the series 3 website. The only details at this stage that will be shown are your names, state, car details such as year, model, etc, your nicknames and your e-mail.
This brings me to the question, do you want your details shown? I don't believe that posting this information will allow anyone to get any info about where you and your car are, as most people have signed up using only their first names. The only risk I see of posting this information up is the fact that the e-mails are there, and if some spam distributing bastard came across the e-mails, he'd have a field day. But the e-mails are easily removed.

I dont want my name or email address shown! Nick Name is fine! Im having enough trouble with my "spam free" email address at the moment so I dont want more spam. Also I dont want strangers emailing me! Rude as it sounds, I dont care who they are or what they want! Emailing me just to say hi or ask some stupid question pisses me off!I think Nickname, Car, State and Website should only be displayed!
Ok people, how's this. We display just nicknames, state, car, etc and leave out the e-mails. I don't want to use more JavaScript, as there is already 460 odd people on the list, and the HTML file is already around 400kb, so with JavaScript it'll be closer to 1 meg. FAR too much.
I'll put a reference on the page that if someone wants someone's e-mail address they can e-mail either myself or Karl the membership officer. I think this will please everyone.
What car do you own now CATman? I can't remember :)
Sounds good to me supplying email on demand. Or miss spell the email address to fool the spam bots, as long as its obvious to humans. IE: joesmith@bigpond.com becomes j o e smith@big swamp.com. Think spaces and illegal characters will fool em.
