Hey whats the maximum wattage light bulb can I whack in my EA without melting the driving light shroud? My current ones don't seem to be up to the task at the moment, but I need to know how high I can go before I start having problems.

As long as you have original ford headlights you can swap over the 60w H3 globes with 100w for your high beam, its a 40amp relay so don't worry about blowing fuses. I did it to my car last year and haven't had a problem, high beam now works as good as hella spotties on my friends hilux.

My highbeam is already pretty good, it's the driving lights that aren't doing so great.

I had a look and my driving lights are rated as 55/60w bulbs, so I dunno what I should go up to. Also is it a good idea to upgrade the parker bulb with a higher wattage one and will I experience any problems doing that?

mate have you got a pic of your car with your driving lights? Do you mean the spities or headlights?

I'm talking about the headlights. There are 3 Bulbs in the EA headlights, 1 is used for the parkers, 1 is a dual wattage one which is 55/60w used for normal in city driving, and when you turn on the highbeams a 3rd bulb comes on as well as the 55/60w one changing to 60w.

So basically I want to know how high the 55/60w can be upgraded to before my headlights start melting, which I have heard of happening to some people before.

i know what you mean donuts, the low beam on the ea's is a shocker!
I think as long as you have genuine headlights you can fit 100w bulbs, But Im not sure
Actually, come to think of it, I think it tells you somewher eon the headlight body which bulb to use

UPDATE: Bought some 70/75w from super cheap auto only to find they were even less bright then my standard 55/60w ones!! Then I looked at the docket, and saw they were 24v globes!! Grrr

I've taken them back and the only 12v ones i could find in the range i want is 80/100w so i'll let you know how i go with them.
