I have a DVD cd which I would like to extract the sound from and to place it on a audio cdr so I can play in the car. Has anybody tried this?

I found this link, http://www.freewebz.com/divxdigest/software/index.html but I'm not quite sure where to start. Looks like it might be a two step process DVD->AVI->WAV

When I encode DVD movies to Divx format first you have to rip the files off the DVD to your hdd with a program like flask DVD, then re-encode it as a divx modified .AVI using a seperate program, in my experiences, the audio track of a DVD is undfortunately not seperate to the video track meaning that yes, you would have to go DVD > AVI > wav and I am not sure how you would have to do that last process...

I dont know if you can do this coz i've never tried, but can you just use your sound recorder whilst playing the movie??? It'd be quicker than ripping it and encoding it twice.

It is a fairly easy process to record audio off your PC, all you need is the right hardware (the tricky part) & of course the right program.
