I got the EB dynoed today, just to get some figures from it.
It got upto 210rwHp @ 5500, but the blower belt was slipping a bit.
Boost was around 7psi due to the belt slipping.
Also on the runs, the plot didnt taper off at around 5000 rpm, it was still climbing, so I think if the motor was capable of more RPM, it would probably make more power.
The 3rd run it was taken upto 5500, I wasnt too keen on trying a ~ 5700rpm run though. I think advancing the cam might make some improvement, at the moment its at std settings
The dyno was a dyno dynamics, not in shootout mode.
Overall, im quite happy with the figure, in comparison with some of the other fugures posted around the place, and there is still some room for improvement.
That's actually very dissapointing for 7psi boost. As you're likely aware, 210hp is only 157kw.
Many naturally aspirated I6's are producing that amount and a little more.
I assume the torque was massive and at low revs?
How were the mixtures?
I also doubt the adjusting the cam will make much difference, not with a forced engine. I'd be chasing mixtures.
Soxx,
I think its pretty good considering the motor hasnt had much work done to it at all. (apart from a rebuild) Also that is using an unmodified EL Ecu.
Put it this way its pulling around 210fwkw, from a motor that was rated 145 from factory. Its rwhp / rwkw still exceeds that of most standard V8's inclding AU's etc, so im not complaining.
To get a 60-70 kw increase from a NA engine requires a lot of work.
I might be getting Pete to convert it to MAF SEFI some time next year, so that should make a nice difference. Mixtures arent too bad, but it needs more timing down low, but that can wait until the maf sefi next year, unless I pick up an MSD BTM to go onto the current MSD setup fairly cheap.
