I had my Standard manual 2001 XR8 ute dynoed back in april. Click here to see graph
The highlighted line is the torque.

A few friends reckon their dyno is out a fair bit, but whats your opinion, should a manual 200kw have around 140kw at the wheels ? i was thinking 150 odd was more the figure i would see.

I have no experience with dyno's, i dont know if he dyno'ed correctly. All i know is he creeped his way up to fourth, then at 100kph he booted it.
But according to the graph, the little spike at the end around 170kph was the fuel cut for the speed limiter, and i can vouch the speed limiter comes in at 185 , as per normal spec ( private road ofcourse :) ) , i thought my speedo was out, had it checked and its 2 kph out.

Anyway, i will get it re dynoed when i do a few mods, just to see how much extra kw at the wheels i get.

I think the highlighted line is power, the other line at the top is torque.

I wouldnt worry about the dyno numbers too much Luke. The variances can be huge. Considering I have a 172kw engine and only got 108rwkw I was stressed for a while but the 1/4 times and the kw's dont add up so now I'm not too worried about it. I think people put too much importance on what a dyno said. Got to a different place and watch as your dyno numbers come back totally different.

it was a vane autocraft. yeah i am not too concerned with it. i know the ute goes pretty well for a std unit. just confused at 1st.

I thought most people are concerned with dyno results for before and after results of mods. Like installing exhaust, new cams etc... you wanna tune it and see how much u've gained, on the same dyno. No?

130 odd it a lil low but within the ballpark. Is it an auto? my auto pulled 137rwkw with mods as in my sig before cam and rr's. i figure you loss around 60-70 kw through to the back weels on average. i'm not a big believer in the % thing. the % will change (lower) as mods increase power.

yeah mate, in my 1st post i noted it was manual :)

but yeah not too concerned, one of my mates , after having his car on that dyno, had 18 more kw at the wheels more on a different dyno. But i will go back after i do my mods (stroker, exhaust, heads, cam) and see the difference made using the same settings he used.

I wouldn't be to worried with the result's mate,for a stocky they arn't to bad anyway.
