Unlike the meriad of bs floating around about Shoot-out mode on Chassis Dynos, I decided to actually look into the matter and try and actually present some facts to you guys.

"Dyno Figures for the day (* denotes APS demo cars). These are flywheel power figures in the "shootout mode". According to Dyno Dynamics this "shootout mode" provides accurate and more importantly repeatable results. The same vehicle will read the true power on any DD dyno in the world. This allows for a true comparison of power and will remove any ambiguity from figures quoted from different DD dynos in different locations"

here is two dyno graphs for my car one in normal mode one is shoot out mode.

maybe a few of the dyno owners can come in and add some technical comments.

I understand that the xr6t thread was a different shoot out mode config so dont worry about that comparing my results against it.

here is one of mine same dyno same day same operator did this specifically to measure what the difference was in shootout mode

whats got me stuffed is that if Shootout mode is repeatable the world over on DD dynos.. why isn't shootout mode the ONLY mode available???
That way when people post their readings it may actually mean something.
Interesting figures there strife... when does the GTO hit the track??

1/4 mile an 0-100 times can be just as varied as the different results on a dyno. It all depends on the driver, the temperature, the track, the tyres, etc.
