Question E350 Tire Pressure Question

Hey dudes:
I just bought a used 2000 E350 extended passenger cab econoline that i'm using to haul loads (not people, i took all those seats out :) ... )

Anyway, the certification label on the driver side door is...missing! the manual says to check it for recommended tire pressure, but since it's not there, well you get the picture.

Anyone around here know what the recommended tire pressure is for an e350 or know where I could find out?

thanks!

Re: E350 Tire Pressure Question

Look on the tire for the Max tire pressure & make your adjustments up to that number

Re: E350 Tire Pressure Question

I heard that was not a good idea because the pressure recommended on the tire is the max pressure allowable before something bad will happen...ie. that it's not the recommended pressure.

Re: E350 Tire Pressure Question

No the tire will list a Max operating pressure. Most passenger tires will list a max psi of 35psi. Now heavy duty tires such as a 6 ply would have a greater max pressure.

We have a 05 F350 dually that runs Firestone Transforce HT's and the tire reads; Max Load Dual - 2910lbs @ 80psi. We only run around 50 in each but can safely run up to 80psi.

Go up to the max air pressure reading on the tire but don't exceed that pressure.

Re: E350 Tire Pressure Question

Interesting. I'm getting smarter. So what's the MINIMUM pressure I should use under normal circumstances?

By the way my tires also say a max psi of 80. I measured the pressure on the tires currently...the two front tires are registering at 47 and the two back tires are both at 50 psi.

Re: E350 Tire Pressure Question

You sound like you know what you're talking about so I'll run em at all 50psi and see how that goes.

thanks!

Re: E350 Tire Pressure Question

Only if you plan to haul heavy items in the van would you put 80psi in the tires. Most people get lazy as gas station FREE AIR pumps only go up to around 40-50psi anyway. I run my E250 with C range tires (245/70R16) at 60psi. My E-250 cargo is only rated to carry 2000lbs payload. I have the option to run up to 80psi, but ride suffers badly as there is no need to run the pressure that high.
