G'Day. I'm planning a trip to Queensland from Adelaide in a 3.9l ea or eb falcon and I was wondering what their fuel consumption is like so I can decide weather or not I tow the tinny or get it transported and me fly. Has anybody got an idea? Cheers.

Mine (CFI with extractors and exhaust) in a pretty shitty state of tune can make 500k's from one tank on the highway.

My EB ll takes about 10L for every 100ks on a highway and about 15-17 in a city

You should be able to get about 700km from a full tank with a MPFI I6.

Geeze thats cheap as, about roughly $250 if I do 2100km's. It would of cost us about $170 each flying virgin. What do you guys reckon about the fuel economy for ef's then ? Will they be about the same ?

my CFI/4spd EA will do 720 on a tank of Premium (68L), roughly 600 towing a trailer... that's taking it pretty easy at 115-120

i had my EA MPFI 5 speed tuned up motor fully done to like new,i got my EA wagon full boot full with car full of passengers from QLD TO 1200 k's away (near canberra 80k's away from canberra actually) on 2 full tanks of fuel..

overall with fuel prices etc it all depends but cost me $95 down and $120 back thats with cheap fuel in QLD 75c-85c a ltr and rip off prices in sydney 99c-$1.05 a ltr

but overall i done about 600k's on a tank i could of done around 700 if i didnt use my lead foot to get there quicker,actually when are you going im going to tow a car trailer and car down and a car back to qld from nsw all up 2400 k's i'll post my fuel costs and $$$ of fuel and the k's i get from a full tank..this will be this time next week,a 2 day trip 1 day down drop off car then pick up another and head straight back up,so i'll let ya know.

you haven't seen me drive, dude :-P... sitting 4 inches off the back of road trains helps too... i used to be able to save half a tank between Gympie and Surfer's doing that in my Kingswood

also, at 110 my Ea's only doing 1500rpm, which seems to be pretty low compared to others i've been in

My ED gets 12.2 in the city or about 550kms a tank and thats hard driving. The smallest kms out of my tank is 480, plus 15km or soe left. I can't seem to get super high consumption like others on here.

I wonder if the Mobil 1 is responsible for that...

I get 7.5 on the highway and thats with the 3.45... go figure. 800kms from a tank has been done before.
