Just been doing some bedtime reading on this car and the article was a comparo with the 92 HSV Club Sport and the 2 Aussie muscle car legends 71 GTHO PhaseIII and 83 HDT SS Group 3.
What i'm curious is how did these Xr8 Sports Pack 3's exist. Was it a tick on the options list when new or were there a batch of them made.
Just looking at it with a nice subtle body kit, 16 inch wheels sports suspension and in that peacock colour i reckon it looks pretty neat, and considering the price it can be had for a decent price these days. I guess only draw back which is abit of a bugger is the engine remained at the stock 165kw. But as we know that can be sorted.

I was half asleep in my mates XF ute. As we went through some traffic lights I thought mmm nice ED then I realised it was you.
If I was driving I would have honked.
I was flicking through an old Wheels magazine and they mentioned a Falcon SS. Apparently it cost more than a XR6 but was intended for homoligation (?) purposes for Group E racing. I can scan the article if anybody is interested.

Yeah read that article too, I'm guessing group E is categorised as a production race car. Funny enough a few years back i saw one for sale at my local ford dealer, though it was in pretty ordinary condition.
Aussie Falcon,
Sounds like you got a good collection of wheels magazines. Would you happen to have anything on the EF-EL XR6?
