ED XR6 vs VYII Ute

Mate had just bought a VYII V6 ute in manual and has been going on about how its quicker than my XR6, so of course we were going to have to have a run. Ive heard that the commo utes in manual can be pretty quick, so I was worried that the ED may not come away victorious (Considering my car isnt running 100% at the moment)

Anyway we are both next to each other at a set of lights turning right onto a highway (100kmh) Not the most idea scenerio but itll do. Im in the outside lane, him the inside.
Lights go green and we both boot it, I shortshift first as not to get sideways on the curve , he is about half a car ahead at this point, get into second and I plant it feeling the backend starting to slide, but we hit the straight and then I start pulling good, by the time I im in third im a good two to three lengths ahead, look down at the speedo and decide to shutdown at this point!

Now I wish I could just get this ED to run right

Very nice mate!
Do you have a time for the beast? 0-100 or 1/4 mile?

Re: ED XR6 vs VYII Ute

I'd be stoked if I could do that! Do you think if the ED was auto it would do as well?

Re: ED XR6 vs VYII Ute

EFFalcon: Its got some sort of overfuelling/hot start problem.

Smut: Nah, dont have a 1/4mile time, but I do have a Gtech 'accelerometer' but havnt gotten around to use it yet

OneredED: My mate has actually been telling me how good the rear grips on his ute. Perhaps IRS on Ute > Sedan with Live axle?

R00: Thanks mate!

EFJase: Thanks also!

Mad_ea_spac: Yeah im sure he's surprised that he got beat, he was pretty convinced that he'd win. Ill have to rub it in that he got beat by an 'old' Ford next time I see him

XRated: Honestly I dont think I would have stood a chance if I was Auto, especially from a stop.
