Ef2 Xr6

I am looking at buying an EF2 XR6 and i was wondering how i could tell it is a genuine XR6 (such as compliance plate). the car in question has a on board computer (for range, litres per 100km etc.) but i didn't think that XR6s had these. also the car has only done 100,000 kms and is priced at 12 grand is that a good price.

EF XR's didnt come with Trip Comp, but they're bloody easy to put in yourself. Futuras didnt either, I put one in mine tho.

Get the VIN of the car and head to http://www.myford.com.au/, sign up, enter the VIN and you will be able to access official Ford records for the car.

And yes $12k is an awesome price for an XR with that kind of kms! Bargain!

Another simple way is to look at the passengers side mirror, if it has the wording "objects may apear closer than they are" it is a series II. Series I did not have this.

all tickford sixes have red rocker covers and im pretty sure it should have a t stamped on the head as the eb's do

They did come with trip computers, mine did and it was an option to buy with the car from Ford.

On another note, i'm selling mine 165,000k's for 11,500!

Hi, I won't write all the specs I have here as it would take too long I hope this is what you are looking for:

EF XR6

Engine 4.0L High output SOHC MPEFI 6 cylinder, unique features: High compression cylinder head with mild porting, h/duty springs, larger valves and guides, unique camshaft profile and spark plugs and larger air intake. Modified engine management.

Trans: Man T50D 5 speed with reverse brake, increased clutch clamp load
Auto BTR 93LE Electronic dual mode 4 speed with recalibrated shift points

Colours: Dynamic White, Le Mans Red, Gunmetal, Polynesian Green, Cobalt Blue

Numbers Manufactured: Ser I: 2838 Ser II: 2565

Series II Distinguishing features: Introduced October 1995, minor spec changes included optional passenger SRS airbag with "XR6" badge moved to glovebox lid, standard convex left rearview mirror, and improved NVH packaging. Polynesian Green and Cobalt Blue were replaced with Heritage Green and Navy Blue

NVH= Noise Vibration & Harshness... basically its got to do with road and cabin noise etc. This is now known as 'refinement'
