I dont know if this should be in this section but here it goes...
Well folks I was driving around in my EL xr6m (stock except for a 3inch CAI pipe) and i come up to this auto 200kw AU2XR8 stopped at the lights. He had 2 passangers in the car and we both knew what was going to happen. Lights turn green... I get the perfect launch without wheelspin. Snap second, no chirping, perfect change, snap third, hit 120 and backed off very quickly. To my suprise (:D :D :D) we were dead nose and nose the whole way! Just thought id let ya's know as i am still stoked and i think i suprised the driver and maybe a few people on here. Its such a big change going from an Auto I6 to a Manual I6. It just feels that the box frees up so much torque that the auto just turns in to "bogg-down-mode". Well theres my 2cents.
the only one where i drove both is EF Futura, and i found both manual and auto to be pretty much the same - except the launch where u can obviously rev before you let the clutch out - but found the old 6 liked to cruise better than rev anyways
The AUII XR8 should've won. Simple explination is he's a crap driver and you're not.
Bollocks, the EF/EL XR6 manuals ran around 15.6 standard, AU2 XR8 autos are only good for around 15.3 standard.
He said the AU had 2 passengers, that will easily slow him a few tenths.
Rick.

What's that?..... Did I hear you say TQE power?
mate i believe ya...but my ford feeling doesnt...iv got a eb 5L fairmont exhouxt extractors air filter, auto, around 180kw...and i leave el's for dead...!
I'd agree, the passengers make a big difference.
But the quickest i have ever seen an EF/EL XR6 run was a low 16.
But my old EL XR6 kept up with quite a few cars.
