Hey guys,
I'm looking at replacing my valve cover gasket either this weekend or the next, and while i was at it, i thought i might as well give my engine a decent clean. I've seen a few engine bays with polished intake manifolds and a few other parts, and thought they looked pretty decent.

how do i go about doing mine up a little? Don't want anything fancy, just looking good. am i going to need a grinder or anything special, or is it just a good detergent or something similar with a bit of elbow grease?

Damn it, knew i forgot to mention something!

Sorry, car is a Telstar TX5, engine is 2.5l V6(KL-03). Engine is also found in MX6, Probe and Mazda 626.

Thought i would just show how it turned out after a few hours work with some sandpaper and some silvo. I think it's come out pretty good, damn smooth to touch and shiny to look at. No polishing tools or anything special, just a bit of elbow grease.
