EOI: Albury/Wodonga All Ford Day weekend - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

I just wanted to ask if any of the Sydney crowd is actually interested in going down for the Australia Day long weekend (January 24/25/26 2004) and attending the show on the 25th - either as an entrant or spectator - as well as having a bit of a NSW/Victoria Forums get together.

Blurter/StickyDate and myself are keen to go, and Tickford2001 is again coming along (if he manages to bring along XDC351 again we may have to make Dave the official 3FB Victorian rep for good times and hilarity :s6: ) along with projected appearances by luminaries (or lunatics) such as Laminge, Tikfd6, Casper, Botch and other forum regulars.

After all the effort that went into the 24hr to get something together to go to a pre-existing event, I'm sort of put off the effort that would have to go into creating a completely stand alone event like originally proposed for Canberra.

Also, with the FPV weekend being the last in February, the projected date in mid February would have ended up being unworkable for so many.

I think we should save any idea of a Canberra trip until late next year for the FPV-Tickford Club�s Show�N�Shine and at this stage support the All Ford Day in the border towns.

While there are a few drawbacks in the long weekend date (end of school holiday traffic and accompanying police presence being one), the fact that there is a national 3-day weekend makes it easy for all of us from either state to spare the time without interrupting work.

We drive down EARLY Saturday, attend the festivities that afternoon/night, got to the show the next day, have a bit of a night out again afterwards, then take our time cruising back on Monday.

Can I get some sort of response from everyone pretty quickly on this so we can get together with some of the Victorian guys and look at places to stay and stuff like that.

Confirming that we are keen JR. We will be spectating though, the XR is getting too sad to display.

Apart from organising through the locals group accommodation and a venue for at least Saturday night, we are all big boys and girls and should be able to look after ourselves. I hope that any efort on your part will be minimal. It goes without saying that I will help with any organisation.

I have asked the ACT Branch to see if they are keen to put on a display as the club was invited to be part of that weekends festivities.
Will know more after their meeting this week.
So, maybe some more Fords going along.

That thought was foremost in my mind. Any event where I don't have to do all the planning is getting my 100% support at this point in the year.

Mark, all I can say is you must be pretty sad if you think you're not worthy of this bunch of over-eating lazy bludgers

I'm at the point where I'm trying to figure out if we've ever actually spoken. I'm sure I know your car after the comment on Monday morning horn blowing from the 24hr, but I can't put a face to the car at this point.

Funny sidebar - talking to a club member at EC on the weekend, he's asking me about the 3FB Xmas dinner/cruise, chatting away like he's known me for ever (everyone knows JR it seems). Very nice guy, but I have no clue who the hell he is. In the end I have to ask what his forum nick is - it was Gambit - so that was another face to a name.

I'm seriously thinking of haning out nametags at this stage as I have so much trouble remembering names (faces are easy).

Anyway, I digress. With a location in Narellan I'm assuming you're in the Sydney branch of the club, so if any of the ACT boys head down we can link up with them I guess. I actually have the Friday off that weekend (4 days of freedom!) so I may yet travel down on the Friday arvo, but either way I think it should be a big weekend.

jason at ec i was the only person wearing the club shirt(syd member) and a djr cap and helping out with the bucket parade to fill the kiddies pool.i have the same problem with peoples names(can't put faces to forum names) i hope this helps
