This is my first post here, and I hope it's an appropriate one. I'm about to partially satisfy my childhood fantasies and buy an XR6. :yeah:
At the moment, I am looking at one used vehicle from a dealer and would appreciate some comments from the experts on this forum. Specifically I want to know if anyone thinks it is dramatically over or under priced, or if there is anything I should watch out for with this model.
I haven't actually seen the car yet, other than photos. I will be checking it out tomorrow.
Model: 2000 AU II XR6 VCT
Colour: Silhouette
Trans: 5 speed manual
Kilometers: 50,000
Asking price: $33,000
mate sounds way over priced too me, specially for 50,000kms. I dont know what sort of extras it has but it would wanna be alot for that much, remember u also have to pay all the tax shyt
you should be albe to get some thing better for less from what i saw when i bought my car
cheers
steve

Don't know if I'm an expert, but it does sound like a lot, but it depends what it has? Does it have the full bodykit? Momo wheel and or knob? It's hard I guess, I bought mine at 2 years old exactly and it was two thirds of the original price, just under, and it only had 42,000kms. You're in Melbourne, have you looked around, there are plenty of places to look, I found some huge prices gaps from dealer to dealer, so you should really have looked around a fair bit then get a rough idea on how good a price is. I just searched on carsales.com.au, and I think I've found the car you're after, 5 speed, black, 49,168km, 16" wheels? I have to say that's overpriced, for another 2 grand, they have an AUI XR8 with the works, and 30,000 less kms. I found most cars on the net to be overpriced, but the choice is yours, all the best in finding your XR :-)
I just searched again and found another car, 2000 AU II XR6, Silhouette, only 18,260kms, only for an extra $900! But shit, it's a 4 Speed Auto, I am taking you want the manual? Sux hey :(
sounds a bit over priced IMO - especially with the end of year run outs and stuff going on, there should be some good deals around with all the trade ins and stuff
i did see an AUII XR8 for $33k (drive away i think too) the other day at melb cheapest cars. was silver, manual, body kit, 17" wheels - was stock, but looked pretty good. You could probably get them down a bit more too

Phooooooaaa 33k for AUII XR8, i bet it's not in the best of conditions. I also wonder how many km's. When i was looking for mine fully optioned XR's were fetching pretty high and i'm talking decent condition.

I sold my XR6 VCT (actually traded against a new 4WD, its ok I have a new AU3 XR8 so stop frowning at me!!). As it was a trade and against a higher price vechicle, the pricing may not be truly indicative. The car has 17000km's on it and I got $31500. It sold within a week and was on the lot for $34890 (not sure what they got for it).
