An extremist view from another forum

don't think this guy is happy with the new changes in QLD.
there is some truth to what he says at the end but it's very blunt to say the least so I didn't post it here.
Didn't want to crush you presious little innocent flowers.

For those of you that don;t live up here, new laws allow for confiscation of cars for hooning, burnouts etc.

Repeat offenders can lose their vehicle permanently.

Hoon copped an interesting email about it.

5 vehicles were confiscated last weekend on the gold coast when the laws came into force.

I am sure that you will be able to find much about them in forums all over the place.

Pete

thats a brilliant brilliant post!!!!!! it is soooooo true!!!!!!

i dont drink, dont smoke, dont do drugs, dont drive like an idiot (though yes sometimes speed, and (very rarely) bag 'em up) i spend most of my money on my car, and the rest on my girlfriend, but all my relatives (esp my copper father) keep on telling me 'dont speed, its dangerous!!!!' im like, well so is smoking, drinking, doing drugs, having unprotected sex with random women etc.

but all the above somehow manages to be 'socially acceptable'. getting so pissed you have to get your stomach pumped or not even remembering your weekend because you were so high/trashed is nearly normal!!! but OMIGOD!!!!! he spins the wheels when starting off at a deserted set of lights just because he can and nobody else is around, and its "OH SHIT!!!!! CONFISCATE HIS CAR!!!!!"

the government really gives me the sh!ts.

One day we'll all become so PC (Politically Correct) that we'll have to go back to cavemen days when things came straight at you and didn't take nasty backalleys. I agree with you Rollin (and the original poster) in that this has gone far enough. Why don't they put so much effort into stopping criminals who break into the elderly homes to steal $50 to spend on junk. It's another diversion mate so they look like they are doing something good for the public to keep voters. Rubbish I say.

It's simple as this.
They make money by picking on drivers.
Even normal "non hoon" drivers feel the pinch we are treated like wallets on wheels for the gov.
The fact is we do somethings that can be marketed as criminal + we've always got money (so they think) were just easy targets with no main group to reject the gov with.

Ultimatly it's not something were ever going to win the fact is that burnouts are dangerous and drifting is for fools and while we support acts like that we won't get anywhere.
The point is that these things are never ever as dangerous as other forms of crime and we seem to get all the punishment.
Like I said before in another post
taking peoples cars is communism straight out.

I 100% agree with that post... i myself live on the coast (its aimed at alot of the crap that goes on in surfers, even though i am still yet to see it).
If the also want to stop alot of burnouts and street racing, why don't they give us a FREE place to go and do that type of stuff with safety???? The OPERATION DRAG place was bought out and is probubly gonna be a nice set of units...
The goveremnet makes me sick... i wish they would get off their buts and do something productive about these things, not just going out with an iron fist and being all "i've got a pole up my bum about things", people wont listen, and it will make it all the mroe cooler. That fact was established a LOOOOOONG time ago... but hey! they wont listen! They dont have to, they are only our goverment

Expecting the tax payer to provide you with free facilities to demonstrate what probably 90% of the population would consider dangerous and/or anti-social behaviour.... I don't think so Fordchick

then well just have to pay for a loss of life through street racing, stupid "hoons" scaring grannys in their cars on the smith street motorway, and although the tax payer is already paying for this other system to be in force, in wount work fully because it will just make it even cooler for people to do it!
A younger generation pretty much ALWAYS has to rebel against its elders... an dthe more those leder sdon't want, the more the younger people like to do. Not all young people are like this, i certainly aint, but i know alot of my friends are!
Or we could just go an be junkies now because thats just young people "screaming for help". Hell a couple junkies costs alot more than a couple of hoons over a lifetime. But thats ok... we are misunderstood, and its attitudes like this that will prevent proper solutions happening and getting these people off the street so that it can be safe and it can be a good thing. Just trying to prevent all together NEVER works.
